A goods train derailed near platform number three at Jasidih Junction in the Asansol Railway Division on Sunday. The train was engaged in dumping boulders and ballast on the platform when three of its coaches went off the tracks.
Fortunately, there have been no reports of any casualties or damage to property due to the derailment. Railway authorities acted quickly to inform senior officials about the incident, and efforts are underway to bring the derailed coach back on track.
Despite the derailment, normal railway operations have continued on both the up and down tracks, ensuring minimal disruption to passenger services. A specialized team from the railway department is currently working to restore the affected portion of the track, and the situation is being monitored closely.
